These terms are an agreement between you and OmniAlera Technologies Holdings Inc., a Delaware corporation based in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA ("OmniAlera", "we", "us"), for your use of Nur (OmniAlera QuranFlow) at nur.omnialera.com ("the app"). By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
The Quran is always free
The Quran is always free. Paid plans add study help and bigger circles. Every surah, every translation, recitation, bookmarks, notes, prayer times and joining circles work without paying, and always will. Paid plans never unlock the Quran itself. Nur has no ads, no analytics and never sells your data.
Your account
You can use Nur without signing in. Your bookmarks, notes and progress then stay on your device.
If you want them on more than one device, or want to join circles or a paid plan, you can sign in with your email. We send you a sign-in link; there is no password to remember. Please use an email address that is yours, and keep access to it, because it is the key to your account. You are responsible for what happens through your account, so tell us at support@omnialera.com if you think someone else has used it.
You can delete your account at any time with Delete my account in the Library. This removes your synced data, posts, media and billing records, and cancels any paid plan.
Plans: Free, Nur Plus and Masjid / Halaqa
- Free: everything you need to read, listen and learn, plus 5 AI answers a day, circles of up to 12 people and 2 GB of shared media per circle.
- Nur Plus ($4.99 a month or $39.99 a year): 100 AI answers a day, whole-surah study guides, circles of up to 50 people with 10 GB of shared media, and you can host live video.
- Masjid / Halaqa ($29 a month or $290 a year): Nur Plus for the person who pays and for up to 9 other leaders, added through one leader code. Circles of up to 300 people with 50 GB of shared media, and class tools such as assignments. A teacher sees a student's progress only if the student agrees.
- What you get. The current features and limits of each plan are shown on the Plans page in the app. We may improve plans over time; if we ever reduce what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in the app before your next renewal.
- Prices. Prices are shown in US dollars before you pay, and any taxes are added at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Renewal. Plans renew automatically, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. If we change a price, the new price applies only from your next renewal after we tell you, and you can cancel before then.
- Free trial. Your first Nur Plus subscription includes a 7-day free trial. You are not charged if you cancel before the trial ends. One free trial per person.
- Cancelling. Cancel at any time from Manage subscription in the app. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for, and you will not be charged again.
- Masjid / Halaqa plans. The person who pays for a Masjid / Halaqa plan controls who receives a leader code and can remove all leaders at any time. Leaders lose Masjid / Halaqa features if the plan ends or they are removed.
- If a payment fails, Stripe may retry it for a short time. If it still fails, the plan ends and the app returns to the free features. Nothing you wrote is deleted.
Refunds
We want you to be glad you paid.
- Monthly plans: cancel any time to stop future charges. We do not normally refund part of a month, but if you were charged by mistake or something did not work, contact us within 30 days and we will put it right.
- Yearly plans: if you change your mind, ask within 14 days of a yearly charge (including the first charge after a free trial) and we will refund it in full. After 14 days, you keep the plan until the end of the year and it will not renew once cancelled.
- Gifts (donations) are voluntary and generally not refundable, but if you gave by mistake, contact us within 30 days.
- Your legal rights come first. If the law where you live gives you more rights (for example, a cooling-off period), those rights apply.
To ask for a refund, email support@omnialera.com from the email address on your Stripe receipt and include the receipt number. Refunds go back to the original card, usually within 5–10 working days.
Support Nur (sadaqah gifts)
You can choose to give a one-off gift of $3, $10 or $25 to help keep Nur free for everyone. Giving is completely voluntary and changes nothing about what you can use.
Please know that gifts are paid to OmniAlera Technologies Holdings Inc., which is a company. It is not a registered charity, a gift is not zakat, and it is not tax-deductible. We make no promise about religious reward for giving; that is between you and Allah. Stripe emails you a receipt for every gift.
AI study help
AI study help is an aid to understanding, based on named tafsir sources that are shown with each answer (such as Al-Mukhtasar fi Tafsir al-Quran and other tafsir published on QuranEnc.com). It is not scripture and it is not a religious ruling (fatwa). It can contain mistakes. For a ruling, please ask a qualified scholar or your local imam.
The Arabic text of the Quran and its translations are always shown exactly as published. AI never rewrites them.
To write an answer, your question and the ayat and tafsir text it is about are sent to Anthropic, our AI provider. Please do not put personal details, such as your name, health or family matters, in your questions.
Recitation and voices
Recitation in Nur is by real reciters, using audio from Islamic Network. Your device's built-in voice may read translations aloud, but it never reads the Arabic Quran.
Circles and community
Circles are places to read, learn and remember together. You are responsible for what you post. To keep them safe and kind:
- Be respectful to everyone, always.
- No links, ads or selling, no harassment, no hate, and nothing illegal.
- Respect the schools of thought (madhhabs). Differences of opinion are welcome; sectarian attacks are not.
- No fatwas from members. Please do not present your own rulings as religious authority. Point people to qualified scholars instead.
- Protect young people. Teen circles are led by verified teachers. Adults must confirm they are 18 or older to join adult circles, and adults may not seek private contact with young people.
- Share only what you have the right to share, and never someone else's private details without their permission.
Circle moderators and OmniAlera may remove posts, media or members to protect people. Anyone can report a post, and reports are reviewed by moderators and by OmniAlera. There are no private messages in Nur.
Fair use
Please don't misuse the app: no automated scraping, overloading, attempts to get around limits, reselling access, or breaking the app's security. We may limit or end access for anyone who does.
Quran text, translations and content
The Arabic text is from The Noble Qur'an Encyclopedia, shown unmodified and checked against a checksum every time we release the app. Translations are from QuranEnc.com (King Fahd Complex and Rowwad Translation Center) and are shown unchanged, with their version numbers and footnotes. Recitation audio is from Islamic Network, licensed for free non-commercial redistribution. Nature photos and clips are from Pexels under the Pexels licence. Fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License. Each source is credited in Settings → Sources.
The Nur app, design and original content belong to OmniAlera. You keep ownership of what you write; you give us only the permission we need to store it and show it to the people you share it with.
Prayer times
Prayer times are calculated on your device using the Adhan library. Calculations can differ from your local timetable, so please confirm times with your local mosque.
Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Nur available and safe, but we cannot promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. We may change, add or remove features. If we ever close the app, paid subscribers will receive a refund for any unused paid time.
Limits of our responsibility
The app is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, OmniAlera is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, USA, without affecting any consumer protections you have under the laws of the country where you live.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app. If you keep using Nur after a change, the new terms apply.
